Here is a short list of recent notable AI developments that we think professional writers and publishers should be paying attention to:
OpenAI 4.5 Release. OpenAI's version 4.5 has been released as a research preview. 4.5 appears to us to be an incremental release, with some improved writing and structuring capabilites that we are currently testing.
Thomson Reuters v Ross: The court in this case applied a 4 point test for determining fair use, and found that TR's copyright had been violated by unauthorized AI training. A strong test case for what may come.
And here's what's new in Symbolic:
Enhanced Content Management Capabilities
Symbolics' Library now has additional capability to view, sort and screen content. All content stored in a customer Library now shows a) the Projects where a document is used; b) the size of the document; c) the person who added that document; and d) the date it was added. Content can be added to a Collection, sorted, viewed and searched. Documents added to a Project are now automatically added to the Library.

Tracking Changes Across Document Versions
Working on a draft iteratively, alone or with a team, is easier than ever. Symbolic launched the ability to snap and save versions of drafts in its Editor a week ago. Now, versions can be compared against each other for all changes. Simply snap a version and you can compare it against the current draft, accept or reject changes and keep the current version or restore a previous one.

New Voice/Format Flow
Voice, format, and style guide are now contained in a unified "Guidance" modal. Its now simple to set up or select voice and format guidance for a draft, or upload a style guide. Generated instructions are presented in an editor with full word processing capabilities, making them easy to edit or supplement.

That's it from us this week. We are always working to improve Symbolic and make your experience more efficient and enjoyable. We would love to hear your feedback and any suggestions you may have for future updates. Don't hesitate to reach out to team@symbolic.ai.
