Here is a short list of recent notable AI developments that we think professional writers and publishers should be paying attention to:
Copyright Chief Terminated. The US Copyright Director was terminated following a report issued by their office that asserted that training AI models with large amounts of unauthorized content was likely a violation of copyright.
No, A $20 Agent Wont Replace Your Team. Uh, yes, what we have been saying. AI is transformational with investment and adaption of workflow. Its not magic. Humans in the loop. Worth a watch.
Search Redefined, Apple Edition. Apple has hinted that they are working on AI based replacements to the long standing partnership with Google for mobile search. Another brick in the wall.
And here's what's new in Symbolic:
Support For Images
Support for visual images is coming soon to Symbolic. Symbolic will enable users to upload their own images or purchase third party images directly from the Symbolic marketplace (more on this below). This capability will enable loading visuals into the Research space as part of collecting sources and research assets (with associated AI actions). In addition, the Publish space will be enhanced so that images can be added directly to a draft article as part of the final packaging before publication. Along with images, Symbolic will include more "layout" capability that uses AI to take the burden of manual production away from users, allowing them to focus on the substance of article creation.
Getty Images Partnership
As part of our support of images, Symbolic will be offering third party images for purchase direct from the platform. And not just any images -- we're starting with imagery from Getty Images, a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace. Through our collaboration, you'll be able to search, browse and purchase both editorial and royalty-free creative images from Getty right inside Symbolic. If you have a Getty Images account, you'll be able to connect it and pull content directly into your projects. If you don't have a Getty Images account, you'll still be able to search, browse and purchase individual images, a unique offering just for Symbolic.
In either case, you can drop sample images into your draft as you work. Once you're ready to publish, Symbolic will simply download the final high-res image and export your complete package.
This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more details about the c. Getty Images integration in the coming weeks as we roll out image options on Symbolic.
That's it from us this week. We are always working to improve Symbolic and make your experience more efficient and enjoyable. We would love to hear your feedback and any suggestions you may have for future updates. Don't hesitate to reach out to team@symbolic.ai.
Stay in the know.
